About me

Hi Welcome to my profile. I know it takes a great deal of courage to look for a therapist. Having counselling or psychotherapy is a big step towards feeling better, and making sense of why things are the way they are. Whether you are suffering from anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression, low self esteem or lack of confidence, or relational difficulties I can help. I also have a particular interest in working with individuals who have ADHD or ADD or think they may have. I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor trained in psychotherapy and counselling and I am a registered member of MBACP and work confidentially within their ethical framework. I have a level 7 Post Graduate level Diploma in Transactional Analysis from an Integrative Perspective.

I work empathically and in a non judgemental way, giving a safe space for you and I to explore together how you are feeling and the impact of those. My style is warm and interactive, and I like to tailor my treatment approach to your individual needs.

I am trained in Transactional Analysis and Integrative Psychotherapy, the former looks at the ego states of different transactions and can be hugely helpful in navigating difficult or challenging relationships. Integrative psychotherapy goes a bit deeper looking at why we are the way we are, and why we suffer in the way we do. Making sense of things can really help us to move forward too. Building a sense of self and positive self esteem where that is lacking. Many people go through traumatic experiences growing up or in adult life and talking to someone about it can help to put it to rest. My practice is informed by neurobiological research, which is a particular interest. Your treatment plan will be specific to your needs, formed with your collaboration. It takes a few sessions to get to know what will work best, but in the first month I would expect your symptoms to start to improve, and continue to lift in the next couple of months. I realize that sometimes it may take longer than that.

My background is in General Nursing. I really enjoy helping people to have a greater sense of well being and quality of life, discovering who they are and what they want from life and how to heal from and cope with mental distress, which is sometimes derived from physical illness as well.

The first session will be an opportunity for us to meet one another and to think together about what you need from therapy, also for you to see if I am a good "fit" for you. I am open to work short or long term.

Jeannette has been an exceptional support during this season of my life. She demonstrates deep empathy and active listening, and she consistently meets me where I am emotionally. Her approach feels client-centred and attuned to my specific needs, rather than generic or prescriptive. She is patient, validating, and intentional in the way she guides sessions. I appreciate how she creates a safe, non-judgmental space that allows me to process openly and honestly. She is thoughtful in her interventions and seems genuinely invested in my wellbeing and growth.

I truly feel supported, heard, and prioritised in our work together.

My therapist, Jeannette, is very gentle and creates a space where I feel safe, heard, and respected. She listens carefully, not just to respond, but to truly understand my experiences and how they affect me. The techniques she shares are practical and grounding, and they actually help me cope and make sense of what I am feeling. What stands out most is her genuine desire for me to grow and heal. I never feel rushed or dismissed, and it is clear that she is fully committed to supporting my progress at a pace that honours where I am emotionally.
