About me

Hi Welcome to my profile. I know it takes a great deal of courage to look for a therapist. Having counselling or psychotherapy is a big step towards feeling better, and making sense of why things are the way they are. Whether you are suffering from anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression, low self esteem or lack of confidence, or relational difficulties I can help. I also have a particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor trained in psychotherapy and counselling and I am a registered member of MBACP and work confidentially within their ethical framework. I have a level 7 Post Graduate level Diploma in Transactional Analysis from an Integrative Perspective.

I work empathically and in a non judgemental way, giving a safe space for you and I to explore together how you are feeling and how it impacts you today. With all the disruption to normal life in the last two years many people find themselves struggling, whether it is from the direct result of Covid, facing illness or death of loved ones, stress, long Covid, or indirectly through social isolation and the anxiety the disease has provoked.

I am trained in Transactional Analysis and Integrative Psychotherapy, the former looks at the ego states of different transactions and can be hugely helpful in navigating difficult or challenging relationships. Integrative psychotherapy goes a bit deeper looking at why we are the way we are, and why we suffer in the way we do. Making sense of things can really help us to move forward too. Building a sense of self and positive self esteem where that is lacking. Many people go through traumatic experiences growing up or in adult life and talking to someone about it can help to put it to rest. Perhaps the family you grew up in didn't talk about emotions and feelings and this can leave one unable to make sense of one's feelings, feeling emotionally numb or confused by turbulent feelings that seem out of control. Feelings need expression and understanding, and can be explored in a safe way through therapy. My practice is informed by neurobiological research, which is a particular interest.

My background is in General Nursing. I really enjoy helping people to have a greater sense of well being and quality of life, discovering who they are and what they want from life and how to heal from and cope with mental distress, which is sometimes derived from physical illness as well.

The first session will be an opportunity for us to meet one another and to think together about what you need from therapy, also for you to see if I am a good "fit" for you. I am open to work short or long term.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jeannette Mason. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I’ve only been working with Jeanette for a few weeks but she seemed to instantly understand what I was trying to convey and asks the right questions to tease my thoughts out so they make sense to me. It feels great to have someone who understands & I’m already feeling more positive about how these sessions will help my thinking

I went through dozen profiles before choosing to work with Jeannette and I’m very proud of my choice. She’s indeed extraordinary; helpful, insightful, knowledgable, listens deeply, advices, points out things that I miss seeing, provides useful resources, makes practical suggestion and is super supportive. I strongly recommend her after working with her for more than 4 months. I’m so happy she’s in my life, she gives me energy when I meet her or even just knowing she’s there, keeps me hopeful.

Jeannette is a truly exceptional therapist who has made a profound impact on my life. She is warm, caring, and always goes the extra mile to make me feel heard and understood. Her expertise in transactional analysis has opened my eyes to my inner ego states and helped me understand why I do the things I do.

Jeannette's kindness and empathy have been especially helpful during my fertility journey, which was a difficult time for me. As someone with ADHD, it's so comforting to have a therapist who understands neurodiversity and can provide real insights and tools to help me manage my challenges.

Jeannette goes above and beyond, too. She always checks in with me between sessions to see how I'm doing. She's just such a lovely and caring person, and I feel so lucky to have found her.
