About Me

I am a licensed family and marriage therapist based in Austin, Texas with over 19 years of experience. Throughout my career I have worked with a diverse population providing mental health counseling, relational/marital counseling and life coaching. I have worked with a broad range of concerns including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, career challenges, self esteem and LGBTQIA+ issues. I also have experience as a co-facilitator of Enneagram workshops.

My counseling style is caring and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach to counseling combines client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and solution focused therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I will work with you to discover strategies, solutions and insights to help you practice new ways to thrive and become your best self.

It takes courage for a person to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Jelka has been very helpful and understanding of someone experiencing loss of a long-term relationship. She puts her focus on individual needs and focuses on respect of one's self. She reaches out if there are any scheduling conflicts, and provides options. I would highly recommend.
