I am a licensed professional counselor with 13 years of experience working with many different types of clients. My primary focus is working with clients who are victims of abuse or trauma and are experiencing PTSD symptoms. However, I also work with clients who are experiencing problems in their day-to-day lives, whether in their relationships, their emotional well-being, or their job performance.
My motto for therapy is to provide unconditional regard and support. I truly believe that my role as a therapist is to create a safe space for you to work through the concerns bringing you to therapy, offering insights and suggestions along the way. My goal is to help you gain new insights into yourself, learn new skills and coping tools, and gain the confidence to feel comfortable in your identity. I draw from a number of different practices and therapy modalities to ensure that I can tailor an approach that best meets your needs.
Our first step will be for you to share the concerns bringing you in for therapy. Together we will then create a customized treatment plan that highlights what goals you want to work towards. We will use this plan to help us structure therapy, and we can always come back to make changes along the way.
Whether you are a first-time client or have been in therapy for many years, it can be overwhelming to choose a new therapist. Please feel free to reach out with specific questions! I love my work and have chosen this field out of a genuine desire to help others. I sincerely hope I will be able to offer support and guidance as you seek to make improvements in your own life.

Jennifer is a great and amazing therapist. She listens and offers a variety of things to help you along the way. I'm sad that she is no longer in Hawaii.

Jennifer is by far the best therapist I have ever worked with. She is caring, understanding, and is apt in knowing the most appropriate time to set the personal goals to help me work towards bettering myself. Jennifer comes with no predisposed judgements and set her priorities towards listening and caring about my struggles. I have made pleasantly surprising quick progress while working with her and highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a therapist who will go the extra mile to understand your circumstances first before making recommendations towards resolution. It is an invaluable skill that not all therapists posses which is why I strongly believe Jennifer is among the best.

I’ve only experienced one video chat with Jennifer Carter & it went extremely well. She’s very kind. I’ve been in the process of my own self healing for long time and decided that I needed therapy. I wish I had went to therapy sooner because I think I would’ve healed a lot sooner. Many of the things she said were definitely eye-opening and reassuring. I think one of the most beautiful things in this world is to be understood & I feel very confident and understood with Jennifer.
