About Me
Empowering Others to Live Happier Lives. I am Jennifer Evans, LPC, LMHC. I am a board-certified therapist in multiple states and over 15 years of counseling experience. I am passionate about effecting change and helping work with people to achieve insight in order to gain maximum potential and reach their most desired visions and goals. I know personally and professionally how difficult it is to get here and I am proud of your first step and commitment to change. I know I can be valued support as we work together to reach success, insight, and overcome emotional and psychosocial stressors.
A little more about me, I was born and raised in Florida, did my undergraduate at Florida State University, and moved to Virginia to Eastern Virginia Medical School, where I studied clinical counseling and received my Master’s in Art Therapy. As a military spouse, we relocated many times, having to redevelop my career each duty station, which gave me a myriad of experiences with various populations. My passion for treatment is trauma and life experiences that lead us to feel fearful, unsafe, and saddened; sometimes with no explanation as to why we feel the way we do. I work with my client’s in a person-centered format with cognitive-behavioral underpinnings and psychoeducation to not only work through and build a better understanding of ourselves but the experiences and beliefs that built us and ways to endure and build resiliency to better manager those feelings so they are not as overwhelming in the future.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jennifer Evans. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I have been with Jennifer for a year and a half and she has helped me tremendously. I am in a significantly better place with myself both personally and professionally and that is in large part due to the support I have received from Jennifer on a weekly basis. Therapy is not a one and done solution. It is a lifelong journey. I am lucky to have found someone who listens and helps me stay grounded during difficult times.
Thank you for all the help that you're given me. I'm in a better spot now. If it wasn't for your support when I got with better help back when I did, i'm almost scared to even think about how things might have gone. It was a really trying time and you helped me through it. Thank you as well for being the first ever person I could share about my family and (bits of) history with. That was also a big "healing" factor for me.
I might definitely have to come back at some point, but I'm "done" for now. Such is life! Hope you're doing well! Take care and best wishes!
I have grown a lot with Jennifer’s help and broken out of some ruts.
She is amazing!
In just 2 call Jennifer has helped me look at things with a fresh take. This has lifted a weight off of me that has improved the way I feel day to day. I look forward to continuing to work on myself with her.
She got to the point and helped me look at things with a new perspective. She also works within my financial boundaries to make our sessions work.
Thank you for all that you do. The time and consideration you give with each week makes all the difference. Building trust is important with the person you share with.
Jen has been so incredibly helpful in processing recent stressors. She has an empathetic approach and helps me share my narrative. I appreciate all that you have done!
I think Jennifer is a great counselor not only does she respond in a timely manner but she always has workshops and worksheets for you based on what your goals are and what problems you're facing and she always goes in very specific details of ways to help you get through your day by having you think about affirmations and mindfulness activities i know for sure that has helped me alot .
Best therapist I’ve had. I’ve had ALOT. She understands your needs, extremely supportive and has helped me realize a lot so far.
I've been working with Jennifer Evans for a few months now dealing with anxiety related issues and addressing long-standing negative coping mechanisms. I've made amazing progress in identifying underlying issues and establishing techniques to overcome my anxiety. Jennifer uses a variety of methods and tailors therapy based on feedback. She is quick to respond, is extremely caring and always insightful. I truly believe she has been integral to the progress I’ve made in a fairly short amount of time. I highly recommend this therapist and am encouraged by how effective online therapy can be.
The best therapist I’ve ever had! Almost has a 6th sense, knows exactly what to say and when to just listen.
One thing I immediately noticed with Jennifer is her use of “we” when addressing goals and obstacles. It really made me feel I have someone really supportive and I really think she is a genuine caring therapist that really wants you to be the healthiest version of you!
very supportive and excellent at offering varied methods of coping
