I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. I have been providing counseling for over 15 years and use a variety of approaches to meet your specific needs. I have a masters degree in clinical social work and am an Air Force Veteran. I have been able to live in a number of places and work with a diverse population providing counseling to families, young adults, teenagers and victims of trauma. I have strong counseling skills that seem most helpful with clients overcoming trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem problems, addiction, abandonment and codependency. I use a client centered approach to establish goals with you and tend to practice cognitive behavioral or solution focused treatment to help improve things in your life. While I am here to listen, I will also provide you with ideas and skills to practice in your daily life so you may get some therapy "homework" from time to time.
I realize that mental health is just as important as physical health and the two actually impact each other. You have also realized that and by coming here you have taken a big step to improve your overall health! I am here to help and if you think I would be a good fit, I look forward to hearing from you.

Jennifer is a wonderful therapist who is down-to-earth, creative, a kind and caring person, with so much experience and wisdom to share. I'm so grateful to be able to speak with her weekly, and I really appreciate all of the worksheets and workshop suggestions she gives every week. She is always very engaging with helpful materials, and responsive to messages. I've already recommended her to my best friend, who recently started BetterHelp, and I would highly recommend her to others.

Jennifer is very helpful in helping me view the downsides of things/people that I may be irrationally putting on a pedestal. When my feelings blur my perception, she is great at bringing me back to reality. This helps me see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I was a bit nervous to get therapy, especially online therapy. Jennifer Keena did a great job on each of my few sessions. She was very friendly, warm, and helpful. Always greeted me and asked how my week went. I quickly opened up and felt comfortable even if it was through voice call. Helped me make small goals for the week. Even small goals help. Your great work is greatly appreciated!

Jennifer has become a vital part of my emotional survival! She has renewed my faith in counselors. Through our sessions and messages I am learning more about myself all the time. It has been so empowering and liberating to finally understand why I do or feel certain things. She keeps me on track but isn’t pushy and always makes sure I’m in a good place before signing off. She follows up frequently and remembers the different things going on in my crazy life. Every counselor is different and I’m glad I finally found the one for me!
