About Me
Thank you for your interest and congratulations in taking the first steps in reaching your goals and making the changes you want to make!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in the state of Georgia. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, work related stress, parenting challenges, ADHD, and Autism.
I believe that counseling can provide education, support and a plan for the direction you would like to go. Therapy is a safe place where you can explore many emotions, fears and patterns of behavior that are preventing you from healing yourself and living a life where you are content and at peace. Any answers you need about how to live the life that is going to bring you fulfillment, joy and peace, are within you. Healing requires action. You can heal yourself with some bold and decisive moves. Counseling can provide a plan of action. If you are dealing with life transitions, stress, depression or anxiety, it is time to get real with yourself and deal with anything that isn't serving you. Commit to feeding thoughts, words and actions that are going to lead to joy and growth.
My approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral. This simply means that as we discuss what brings you to therapy I may focus on the two things. First the cognitive piece: what are you thinking or what are thoughts/beliefs that you have that aren't working for you and how do we change those. Then, the behavioral piece: what are things you keep doing that's not working for you and how do we change those. I am a support person for you as you determine what your goals are and we develop a plan on how to get there.
My office hours are Monday-Wednesday, 8 am- 4 pm EDT. There is some flexibility with that if needed.
I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Jennifer McGee. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Dr. McGee is always thoughtful, caring, and open minded during sessions. She is deeply empathetic and always brings confidence and expertise to the table.
Jennifer has helped me structure my thoughts, and asked new questions I need to answer that can help me getting where I want to be. She has provided tremendous support during this pandemic, and facilitated - with her own wisdom and kindness - in bringing clarity and relief in some areas of my life. I would greatly recommend her.
Dr. McGee is the first person who I've felt has significantly helped me reach my therapy goals. She has given me both the feedback I needed in the moment and the tools necessary to make positive changes in everyday life. Thank you!!

Dr. McGee is a great therapist. I especially appreciate her flexibility with meeting times. She is willing to work with me to figure out what my issues are and is patient. She has a lot of experience and is able to relate to me in many ways to help me through.
Dr. McGee knows what I need to hear when I need to hear it. She offers compassionate nonjudgmental advice, and is helping me through a very difficult time in my life.
Dr. McGee has been incredible in my healing. In just the 2 weeks I've been working with her we've revealed several underlying issues that I would never have discovered on my own.
She is compassionate and caring, yet tough. Which is exactly what I need.
