About Me

Hi! You just made the single HARDEST and MOST IMPORTANT decision to feel better by asking for help.

My name is Jennifer. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been providing supportive counseling for around 20 years. This means I will listen to you, your problems, and challenges, so I can learn to better understand you. By understanding what you need and hope to accomplish, I will be able to help you with your current life challenges. This will help us to work towards making improvements that will help you feel better about yourself right away and in the future. How does that sound to you?
Initially, in therapy, it might seem like therapy is going slow as you share your experiences and I learn to understand your feelings and ideas. Hopefully, I will be able to provide some calming exercises, as well as some “short-term solutions” that will help you feel better right away. It is hard to function daily when you are feeling anxious and stressed and cannot concentrate on daily activities.
Life can seem so confusing and hard to navigate sometimes. Even though it feels like you are alone, you are not. Many people go through different stages in life and have trouble “finding their way”. You may find it helpful to know that I have experience being the “client” in a “counseling relationship” and I was very choosy about what I looked for in my therapist/counselor. I am a person who needs to know I can say absolutely anything to my counselor, and they will not think any less of me. I need to feel understood, validated, and that my therapist is genuinely concerned for my well-being. I hope you know I will be here for you in the same way. Together we can work towards understanding why you feel certain ways, finding peace and contentment in your life now and in your future. If all this sounds like a plan you would like to work on, let me know, and we can begin as soon as you like. I am looking forward to helping you feel better! Jennifer has been a God send. Every single questionnaire and all the resources have guided my therapy in the direction it needs to go. I feel extremely comfortable during my sessions and know she’s available if I need her. I love aspects of self-care she emphasizes, and all of the worksheets and meditations have also been super helpful! I highly recommend her for anyone with GAD or OCD, or heck anyone in general!

Written on Nov 15, 2021 after therapy with Jennifer for 9 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, self esteem, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue

When I started therapy with Jennifer, I was struggling hard with anxiety, my relationships and personal boundaries, and past traumas. She has been so patient and understanding and has given me so much more confidence in myself to set boundaries and take on a more assertive role in my life instead of feeling like I was stuck in life and couldn’t do anything about it. Now I’m back in school for something I really love, my communication skills are much better, and I feel like I’m heading in the right direction. I would really recommend her to anyone, especially women who suffered from abuse or trauma in their past. She is a wonderful therapist.

Jennifer has really helped me get my head straight. I have a hard time setting boundaries as I have been extremely codependent my entire life. She had come to feel kind and nurturing in a way that I haven’t felt in therapy and Ive had a lot of therapy.
