Hello!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin with over 22 years’ experience providing direct care for new parents and infants, children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families. I have worked at an inpatient residential treatment center for adolescents and a community mental health clinic. I am also a consultant for the Wisconsin association of infant mental health (WI-AIMH).
In 1999, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Master’s degree in mental health counseling. In addition, I have specialized training through the University of Wisconsin Madison in infant early childhood and family mental health. I am also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), child parent psychotherapy (CPP) and reflective practices such as yoga and meditation.
It is my passion and honor to be a guide for people in my community in finding their path to a life worth living. I encourage a whole life approach where we will focus on you as a person versus any diagnosis that you may have been given. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space that welcomes people of diverse backgrounds. I hope that when we talk, you feel safe, supported, and empowered to make lasting changes.
When I am not counseling, I am a parent of a teenager, training for RAGNAR road or trail race, doing yoga, playing viola, learning, reading and crafting. I try to practice what I teach. Change and growth take effort beginning with small intentional steps. We aren’t moving backward as long as we decide to move forward. In seeking counseling, I know you are ready to take the steps to create change even if you are not sure where to begin. I look forward to working with you to build the life you want to live while healing from previous challenges.
Psychotherapy is above all a collaborative approach with the goal of helping you to achieve your goals in a healthy manner. Together, at your speed, we will discover your strengths and perhaps even find some new talents.
I have appointments available weekday evenings and weekend mornings/evenings Central Standard Time.

I have been a veteran at therapy… I had a lot of therapists! Jennifer is by FAR the best one yet. She’s pure magic. I appreciate her and everything she’s done to make me a better version of myself and sorting out past trauma and worries. She is open and shares her experiences and expertise. It’s definitely not like you are talking to a wall. I love her!

Before starting with Jennifer, I felt all over the place, small efforts felt huge, and I was having trouble connecting to myself and the people I love. Now I feel much better equipped to handle tough situations within my life with the tools Jennifer has taught me and I certainly feel happier knowing that I have this outlet to understand myself better, to learn and grow from, through our sessions.

I can't thank Jennifer enough for the help she has given me. She is incredibly patient, kind and knowledgeable. She's also very funny, which is a real bonus. It's important for me to speak to someone who is professional but feels very genuine.
I was about to give up on doing therapy after a couple of dodgy match ups on here and I'm so glad I persevered. I never thought I would be doing as well as I am now and feel like I've been given control of my brain back after a good few years of feeling just awful. I am now able to stop therapy and crack on, on my own.
I have recommended Jennifer to a friend and would recommend her to anyone.
Thanks again.

When I started therapy with BetterHelp I knew I needed it but was not really ready to take the steps I knew I needed to take. Jennifer and I were chatting via the messages function but I would get anxious about reading the messages and avoid them. She sent me a video to reach out and explain who she was, how she could help etc. We started with phone calls for the first few months while she taught me the tools to help deal with my anxiety. We decided to then move to video chats so we could work on EMDR therapy. WOW. EMDR has honestly changed my life. The amount that I feel/know I have improved in the 6 months we have worked on this kinda leaves me speechless. I found myself looking for excuses, that it hadn't worked, that I was still anxious but EMDR has changed so much for me. I am so much more confident and comfortable with myself and others around me. Working with Jennifer has been life-changing for me. Genuinely. She is so kind and so patient and, if I can be honest, I'm a little sad that I will never meet her in person because she just gives off such incredibly warm vibes. I am happy to see such growth in myself and I have her to thank, she is amazing.

Jennifer was great at helping me trust her and this process of therapy. She made me feel heard and not judged, and helped validate positives thoughts. There were a lot of topics covered, and some of what was addressed came out through the course of therapy. Jennifer was very clear with and ensured that I was well aware of my goals set for therapy. Highly recommend Jennifer and will definitely go back to her services if needed.
