My name is Jennifer Wright and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor that primarily specializes in addictions, mood disorders and anxiety. I want you to find freedom and happiness, whatever that looks like to you. I utilize behavioral changes and also focus on patterns of thinking that aren't working for you anymore. There are other specialties that I treat and would be more than willing to discuss your specific difficulties. I look forward to meeting you!
A little bit about myself: I go in between the Austin area and Vermont with my dog by my side. Wherever we are I only see Texas clients on Central Time. We travel whenever we get the chance and prefer to spend time in nature. I became a counselor after many hardships of my own when I was younger. Those that guided me along the way instilled in me the desire to assist other people and to reduce the stigma surrounding getting help. I'd like to help you reach your recovery goals.

I was really nervous to start therapy again.. but after the first couple sessions it feels natural to talk to her! She just makes it feel so easy and comforting! I look forward to every session and always feel so much better when we are done!!

Jennifer is a very kind soul. She listens to my concerns, acknowledges my feelings, and helps me walk through the problems. Sessions with her feel like talking to a friend, not talking to a therapist. I know I can come off as reserved, but she helps me break through that and address the real issues. This is my first time having therapy. I was really worried I would get a therapist that I wouldn't see eye to eye with. Thankfully, she truly loves her job and helping others. I would recommend her to anyone that has never had therapy, or has had a bad experience in therapy. With that said, she's amazing for other people as well, but she makes the experience less scary and makes it feel "normal" instead of something that's "wrong" with you. I look forward to more sessions with her.

Jennifer has truly helped me turn my life around in the right direction. I came to her feeling so defeated, scared, and hopeless when it came to my mental health. She helped me accept my MDD/GAD diagnosis and talked me through every intrusive thought and feeling I experienced. In each of our sessions, she offered suggestions of minimal effort activities to try, coping mechanisms, and eventually helped me to make the decision to get on an SSRI medication (which I had been terrified to take the leap.) Now I've been on SSRIs for over a month, and that plus the counseling sessions with Jennifer have helped me start the recovery process and I've started feeling truly like myself again with little anxiety/depressive symptoms. Jennifer is compassionate, real, and is truly invested in her clients. I could not be more thankful to have had such a wonderful counselor.

Overwhelmed, lost, frustrated, super emotional were the feelings I'd been experiencing. I had attempted this process atleast 5 times in the last 2years but this time was different. Jennifer's bio resignated with me instantly. She's a great listener (i can over talk or impulsively interrupt), she's patient and very thorough. I feel like I'm peeping out of my safe/guarded place after our 2 sessions, I'm becoming more comfortable with opening up. She's helped me identify some areas of concern and given resources, tools to assist in these areas. Jennifer is definitely helping me get my power back!

Jennifer helped me feel grounded and provided me with exercises that actually are helping me overcome my OCD. On top of that, I was going through a rough patch in life as my family is affected by a genetic illness. Her experience and counseling helped me to see my feelings were ok to have and that through steps and communication, I can work through it to get back to a normal day to day. Her candor is honest and refreshing, as well as comforting. I appreciate her so much and am glad she was connected with me.
