About Me

Hello! My name is Jenny Johnson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) based out of Colorado.

I have been in the counseling field for 4 years, and during that time, I have met many amazing clients, who have inspired me and shown me the power of humanity. I have worked with people who struggle with substance abuse problems, were incarcerated in state prison and county jail, signed themselves into 90 day treatment programs for substance abuse, battled with mental and emotional turmoil, and are trauma survivors. I am honored to know these brave and courageous people who shared their lives and pain with me, in hopes that they could find a guide to help them along the rough parts of their journeys.

I take this trust and responsibility very seriously; it is my daily intention and goal to treat my clients with respect, dignity, and empathetic understanding. I have a deep appreciation for this work.

My therapeutic style is client-centered, warm, nonjudgmental, and conversational. I like to meet my clients where they are and get to know who they are, so we can come up with a plan together to bring emotional relief and retreat. I believe in treating whole people: thoughts, beliefs, emotions, experiences, patterns, and behaviors, because I have seen the connection between all of these variables, and the power in identifying these connections.

I am looking forward to meeting you, and I celebrate your decision to seek help. It is a difficult thing to do, and you are already heroic and daring in your search. Self-reflection and self-exploration are the beginning of exquisite growth.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Jenny does a wonderful job and listens very well without giving me solutions. She helps me find my way to my own solutions

Jenny has been absolutely wonderful. She listens patiently and doesn't rush me through the things I need to talk about. She is so understanding of how I feel about things, even if others think negatively, Jenny has always understood why I feel the way I do about things others would be upset about. She's been a great support during a difficult time.
