Reaching out for help can be an intimidating endeavor, but having the awareness that your life is not where you want it to be is a great first step. While I generally focus on the present, as we cannot change things that have already happened, we may look to the past in our search for previous success in managing the issues before you. I believe the trust built between client and therapist is the most important aspect in the counseling relationship and the pursuit and maintenance of this trust is an ongoing process. Whether you have been struggling for years or experiencing a new obstacle, I believe we can work through the concerns together. The strength it takes to ask for help is the same strength that will lead you to happiness.
I completed my Master’s of Science in Counseling from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2005. I have been working as a mental health therapist for nearly 16 years in Nebraska. I have experience working with individuals, couples and families struggling with a variety of issues, such as anxiety and depression, trauma, anger management, life transitions and infidelity. I believe I bring a multi-faceted perspective to my work, as I have professional experience with inpatient care, case management, as well as outpatient therapy. Typically, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused and Motivational Interviewing while always stressing the importance of building the relationship between client and therapist based on trust, mutual respect, and unconditional positive regard.
I look forward to the opportunity to help people with life issues that have left them unsatisfied. Our growth is a life-long journey and sometimes we lean on others in pursuit of our true potential. My hope is that I can assist people on their path when they are looking for guidance.

Jerry rocks! Accidentally picked the wrong answer on one of these questions - not sure how to fix it but meant strongly agree!

I came to Jerry when I was struggling with everything in my life and thought nobody would accept me. Jerry became the person I trusted the most with my issue and he accepted me unconditionally and I suddenly felt safe thanks to him. I even kept my membership long after I was okay because I wanted to stay in touch with him. He always knew how to speak with me, he remembered all the details from previous sessions to the level where I was surprised how can he remember all that. I am forever grateful for him, because he was here all the time when nobody else was and when I needed someone the most. Thank you millions Jerry, it was great having you as a therapist and a friend and I will always know where to find you if I need! Much love!

Jerry is the sort of person that takes the intimidation out of therapy.
He is a good listener and focuses on present solutions and problematic thinking patterns to help reframe thoughts and find solutions.

Jerry is so helpful- I came to him with a fairly specific need and as those needs have changed our therapy has evolved to accommodate and I have found him to be equally helpful, empathetic, kind and non judgmental through all of the stages.

It's only been a few sessions with Jerry, but he's very easy to talk with, non-judgemental, and asks pointed questions to help me understand the issues at hand. He provided a worksheet before we first met that helped me to clarify why I was seeking therapy, and I think it really helped us to get started. I've been to several therapists and psychologists over the years, and I find that both the BetterHelp platform and particularly Jerry to be extremely helpful.
