Jesse Craighead, LPC
About me
Hello! My name is Jesse, I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma, and have been working in the mental health field since 2016. I have worked with individuals from a broad range of backgrounds and cultures with a broad range of problems. I began working in the field in the community mental health setting, so I have experience with depression, anxiety, trauma, schizophrenia, relationship and communication problems, and so much more. Before entering this field I worked in child welfare, first as an investigator and then certifying foster homes.
I describe my therapy style as eclectic. I understand developing better mental health is not a one-size-fits-all process, and utilize multiple different modalities to help you become the best version of yourself. You can expect me to utilize common modalities, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, but also believe in the benefits of practicing mindfulness. I'm also trained to practice additional "outside the box" therapies, such as EMDR, and will utilize every tool I possess to help you achieve success and overcome your problems. I attended Northeastern State University, where I earned a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, and hope to begin working on a doctoral degree soon.
I would describe myself as open-minded, caring, and a bit of a nerd. I practice therapy in the same way I live my life; being genuine, honest, and compassionate. I understand that helping you be the best version of yourself means I have to be the best version of myself, and will always be committed to ensuring you are the focus of every conversation and your needs come first. I'm committed to helping you reach your goals, and would love the privilege of helping you achieve them.
