About me

Welcome. Since you are here looking at profiles, I would guess you are struggling with some area of your life. I’m glad you are here and this is a BRAVE thing you are doing. A little about me and how I can help.

My name is Jessica Beane and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in Michigan. I earned a BA at Wayne State University (2004) in psychology and a minor in sociology. I obtained my MS from University of Phoenix (2014) in Mental Health Counseling. I have over 10 years experience working in the mental health field. I started out working in a residential center for teenage girls as a youth counselor/direct care aid, rehabilitation specialist at a clubhouse, and a case manager in a Community Mental Health (CMH) agency. I have a variety of experience with different populations including teenagers all the way to the elderly. I have worked with individuals from the inner city, suburbs, and rural areas. I have worked with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, Bipolar, PTSD, trauma, abuse, rituals, OCD, relationships issues, domestic violence, substance use/addictions, and self esteem issues.

My therapeutic style begins with developing rapport with a client. This is extremely important because individuals like yourselves will be sharing intimate details of their lives and need to feel safe. I use an integrated model overall because I find it important to have a large tool box when working with people. CBT and motivational interviewing are two models I use the most. I believe the importance of learning how thoughts affect feelings which trigger behaviors. I also find it useful and beneficial to assist clients in getting motivated for change. My belief is that everyone deserves inner peace and happiness. I hope to walk with you along this journey and help you feel better and be your truest self. Progress over perfection is key and we can do hard things.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I am excited to hear from you and start this journey. I understand finding the right fit is so important and can take time. I am here to assist in any way possible. Remember you CAN do hard things. Keep being BRAVE.

Jessica is a fantastic listener who recalls what has been going on in my life. She has great insight into the problems I am struggling with with a husband who has alcohol use disorder. She can give me specific examples on how to deal with his behaviors. She has been instrumental in my recovery and healing so that I might return to live my life in a good way. I was once very depressed, but am now living a happy and fulfilling life.

Jessica has just started to help me on this path. I’m very new to therapy and I couldn't feel more comfortable with someone. Jessica is easy to talk to and very down to earth. I’m looking forward to continuing our work together

Jessica is such a remarkable person and therapist. Having her as my therapist is truly meant to be and I’m entirely grateful for the amount of time, care and concern she put into everything I need help with. She is a therapist that truly challenges you to analyze your problems and put in the work to improve them, all while helping you heal along the way. She is always quick to respond and takes time out of her day to find and recommend me books that help me work through my emotions or problems. I cannot say enough great things about her and I highly recommend her as a therapist.
