Jessica Hankins, LPC
About me
Welcome! My name is Jessica Hankins and I am a Nationally and State Certified School Psychologist, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. For more than 10 years, I have worked in the mental health field assisting children, youth and adults in discovering their talents and reaching their true potential. I specialize in working with youth and adults in coping with grief, learning disabilities, emotional concerns, depression, stress and anxiety, ADHD, parent coaching, behavioral concerns, autism, and general youth development.
My counseling style is warm, interactive, holistic and supportive as the client controls the pace and focus of our work. My approach combines person centered, cognitive behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing and solution focused techniques. My motto is "You can't control what someone may do or say, but you can control HOW you respond." With my counseling style and motto in mind, my goal is to equip you to develop and implement strategies and techniques that you can use to respond to life situations.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, from the State University of New York College at Buffalo, a Master of Arts with an Advanced Certificate in School Psychology from the University of Buffalo and certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
