About me

I believe that everyone has a purpose in this life. I believe that if you put in the work, you can overcome anything. I believe that things happen to us & it is the way that we respond to them that makes us who we are. For the past four years, I have been working with children & adults who have experienced personal & systemic trauma. My passion lies in helping people who have experienced trauma grow & overcome. I have worked with children & adolescents, families, & individuals who experience depression & anxiety as a result of their trauma. I am passionate about helping trauma & abuse survivors become the best version of themselves through working through their trauma. I utilize talk therapy with some aspects of EMDR included. I believe that creating your own narrative & looking for solutions to move forward is the best way to grow & develop into the best version of ourselves. I utilize aspects of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my approach. I believe that you, the client, know what is best for you & our work will be centered around your needs & goals. I attended Radford University & received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014. I have since been licensed in the state of North Carolina. I believe that my education & work experience in the field will benefit our therapeutic relationship. I believe that therapeutic rapport is the most important aspect of therapy, so I spend a lot of time joining & building trust with my clients. Let's work together to help you become the best version of yourself!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jessica "Jess" Clodfelter. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

She is very friendly when talking to her, she listens when I need her to talk faster or slower so I can understand her words better, or repeats things for me when needed. I usually start sessions stressed but calm down by a lot while talking to her. I feel like I have improved.

Jessica is wonderful. I have been to several therapists in the past for my depression, and Jessica has transformed my experience by helping me to open up new neural pathways. She has helped me with so much already in the few months we've been working together and I have gotten relief in our sessions where I never thought I would!

Jessica is WONDERFUL! She is incredibly supportive, and it's obvious that she wants to be the best counselor she can be for me. If you want a counselor who is supportive, empathetic, and understanding then I highly recommend Jessica.
