About me
Welcome! I'm Jessica, a licensed clinical mental health counselor based out of NC. Since 2012, I have worked with a wide range of populations in a variety of settings. Whatever the reason that has brought you here today, you are now one step closer to wellness and healing. I hope I can help you continue on that journey!
Therapy is a process in which you will clarify how you feel, what you need and want, and how to get more satisfaction and success from your life.
Counseling approaches I use vary according to your personal goals. Theories that influence my work are cognitive behavioral theory, which involves the process of identifying negative thinking patterns so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way; and systems theory which recognizes that all parts of any system are interrelated, interconnected and interdependent, therefore, it is important to take into account the influence of various systems on individual functioning. I also find it helpful to incorporate psycho-educational aspects such as teaching relaxation skills, feelings identification and physiological effects of stress, communication techniques and behavioral strategies.
But truly, the foundation of my therapeutic style is person centered, a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions. I believe each counseling experience should be unique and one of a kind, tailored to the person I am with in that moment. I hope you will feel that belief in our work together.
My schedule varies throughout the year, so I prefer to work with clients directly to schedule appointments that fit their need. Please feel free to message me to inquire about my current session time availability.

Reviews

Jessica has been a wonderful addition to my "inner circle". Jessica is very empathetic, supportive, and understanding, while at the same time realistic. Through her guidance and support I'm learning that I am not the only one with challenges, and she had given me the tools to begin making changes for the better. Jessica is always quick to respond to any messages and take the time to help me reflect on my worksheet responses. I feel 100% comfortable leaning on Jessica when I need to knowing that she will be there with support.

There's so many great things that I can say about Jessica. She's very warm and welcoming and I always look forward to talking with her every week. I feel like she listens and offers resources in a way that really helps me to process what we've talked about and helps me to put them into practice. She is absolutely what I was looking for in a therapist.

Jessica is by far the best therapist I have ever encountered. She makes you feel like you're talking to a close friend, and after every session I have a page full of notes with beyond insightful strategies and phrases. She has transformed how I navigate my relationships and life, and I am so thankful to have found her.

Using BetterHelp was my first experience with therapy and having Jessica as my therapist was the best. She was always available, understanding, and always gave great advice. She listened and validated my feelings, but also made me step out my comfort zone and have those uncomfortable conversations that were needed. I have grown so much and truly feel like Im learning to live life for me in the moment. I thank Jessica so much!!
