About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker, bilingual in English and Spanish, in Maryland with over 13 years of experience working with youth and families in a varieties of settings (outpatient agencies, home based services and school based services). In addition, I am a State Board of Social Work Examiners approved supervisor and have provided internship supervision for Bachelor’s and Master’s level social worker students.
I am currently in private practice offering services to youth, families, and youth service providers. I have experience working with clients in acculturation issues, ADHD, anger management, anxiety, career counseling, coping with trauma, depression, executive skills functioning, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem/self-worth, peer relationships, stress management, and wellness.
Having worked with diverse and multicultural populations, I will provide an empathetic and non-judgmental approach. Each person is unique as are the circumstances when they may need to reach out for support. I help clients identify and use coping skills and mindfulness to improve daily functioning. I feel that counseling support is a collaborative process and will listen to the concerns of the client and use a holistic approach to incorporate the emotional, cognitive, physical, and cultural aspects during treatment.
My therapeutic approach begins with identifying client’s strengths and incorporates client centered solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and/or motivational interviewing to help clients reach their optimal functioning.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
