Jessica Utter, LPC
About me
My passion....What gives me meaning and purpose in life....Is to provide support to men and women who struggle with trauma. Trauma comes in all forms and affects us all differently. It makes it difficult to function effectively in everyday life. It tears relationships apart, leads us to abuse substances, affects sleep and our ability to work, and causes us to lose trust in the people and places we love the most. I have specialized training in EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Dialectical Behavior modalities. I specialize in working with military veterans and first responders and their families, individuals with complex childhood trauma, and relationship issues that are a direct result of trauma. I also have extensive experience working with substance use disorders and addictive behaviors, phobias and anxiety disorders, codependency, and mood disorders. I am currently fully licensed in the State of Texas as an LPC. I graduated at the top of my class with Master's degrees in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Addiction's Counseling, and am currently a member of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society.

Jessica and better help have truly saved my life! She is the best therapist I have ever worked with. Even if it's only telehealth appointments, I feel more connected to her and have made way more progress than with in person appointments.

Jessica has been a great help. She is very easy to talk to, she listens really well, and I love that she goes back to things that have been said to really dissect them and understand them better. I’m very glad to have been paired with Jessica.
