About Me

I am so glad you are here! My name is Jessica and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia and Maryland with 20 years’ experience in many states on the East Coast. My Masters in Social Work is from Boston University and I love assisting others to make changes and improve their lives.

I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns, through brief and long-term therapy. I have a special expertise in stress reduction, anxiety, career issues, and addiction recovery.

It is important to me to really get to know the person I am working with and adapt my counseling style to meet your needs. I like to set practical goals to help you make changes in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that solve problems. I try to provide resources and worksheets so you can continue to focus on your growth outside of messaging or live sessions.

If you want support to start addressing the issues that are holding you back and causing you discomfort, then I would really like to work with you. I check emails multiple times daily on weekdays and offer live chat, phone, and video sessions. We can use about an hour a week through detailed almost daily email check-ins or a weekly live session and a few briefer email check-ins. My availability for live sessions is between 10:00 AM-3:00 PM Monday-Friday. It is hard to make this first step and I commend you and hope to work with you.

Jessica has been amazing! Immediately I felt secure knowing she was taking my concerns seriously. Within a couple of days she had created goal plans for me which have been incredibly helpful. When I don’t reach out she stays on top of me and sends me messages almost daily letting me know she is always around to listen. Jessica is amazing. She is so compassionate, understanding, insightful, and helpful. She really takes the time to get to know me, and how to best help me. I keep thinking she's going to run out of ideas, but that never happens. This isn't cookie cutter counseling, but genuinely tailored to your needs. I couldn't recommend her more!

Jessica is professional and knowledgeable but also still very approachable and friendly. She has been a great fit for me so far and I really value her advice and expertise, which has allowed me to face new problems and conflicts in-between sessions with the tools I need to stay calm and think things through rationally instead of being paralyzed by anxiety and obsessive thoughts.

Jessica is a great counselor and I can't recommend her enough! She is very responsive and takes the time to understand what your concerns are and how she can help. Not only is she responsive to your messages, but if she hasn't heard from you in a day or two she'll follow up to check in and see how you're doing. For someone who is busy and gets caught up in everything going on, this is a great reminder to stop and evaluate. She pushes you to think beyond just the surface issue and what might be causing the underlying issue. Sometimes it's uncomfortable evaluating yourself in ways you haven't before, but for me I need someone who pokes me with a stick and forces me out of my comfort zone.
