I was a hairdresser in Atlanta for 20 years listening to client’s problems while working to make their outside beautiful. I often wondered how I could help with their inner self/beauty. Then my daughter started college and she talked me into going with her. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Mercer University in 1997. A few years later I finished my Masters of Arts in Psychology from Argosy University, and then completed my Ph.D. from Northcentral in 2011.
I am an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in Atlanta Georgia. I worked in a private hospital for addiction and psych patients for almost 25 years. I also worked in private practice two days a week; 10 of those years. I recently retired. Presently I work on Thursdays at Georgia Recovery Centers with mandated clients. I use CBT, DBT, Client Centered, Mindfulness and Positive Therapy in an eclectic approach to therapy. I am a warm and supportive therapist but will help you tackle your struggles head on with a certain amount of tenacity. Together we will prioritize; establishing goals and the steps it will take to get through your struggles. We will work as a team to help you find a place of inner peace, contentment and accomplishment that you so truly deserve. I am looking forward to our journey together!

Dr. Yearta has helped me through one of the toughest periods I’ve gone through as a young woman. I feel fully seen, understood, and accepted when we speak. She gives me tangible solutions but she also just lets me speak and get it all out. She encourages me and reminds me of my strengths. I’m so thankful to have found her.

She is the greatest! I feel very comfortable talking to her and I was nervous to sign up for therapy to begin with and now I am so thankful I did. I feel like I’m talking to a very dear friend who I’ve know for a while. From our very first session, she got me. She pointed out things or put a name to my problems and stresses that made everything come to light and let me know for sure what I was experiencing in my life is not right and very unhealthy for me. Now I feel like I am on my way to becoming the person I used to be before all the stress and problems in my life, a time when I was very happy. Dr. Yearta is the best!
