About me

Hi. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in WI, and have been a therapist since 2007, when I earned my Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Mount Mary University. I have experience working with clients with a wide range of concerns including grief and loss, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, work/life balance, women's issues, and life changes. I've also helped many people who have experienced trauma or abuse.

My counseling style is warm, genuine and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My person-centered approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, mindfulness and solution focused counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to look into counseling, congrats on taking a huge step toward a more fulfilling and happy life. If you are ready, I'm here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Jo Ann is one of the most empathetic people I've ever met. She knows exactly what to say and what to do during our therapy sessions. She's a good listener and she's helped me enormously to build up my confidence and work on my anxiety and depression. I highly recommend her!

Jo Ann is always kind and supportive. She validates my feelings and emotions while challenging me to see situations through a new perspective and work outside of my comfort zone. Jo Ann always creates a safe and comfortable space for me to work through my thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Very good! She has helped me quickly focus on what is most distressing to me and we are working on strategies that I can use to work with the discomfort.

Jo Ann is very compassionate in her approach. I have only had a few sessions with her so I don’t feel that we have gotten to know each other well enough to further comment. I am enjoying our sessions so far.
