About me

My name is Joanna White. I received my Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and worked in different capacities with the Prisoner Reentry population for many years. I made the decision to shift my focus and I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California simultaneously working with women and men experiencing Domestic/Sexual Violence. Working with these two different populations has helped me gain a perspective from an offender and victim/survivor perspective. I have years of experience working with people who have experienced trauma, specifically domestic/sexual violence, childhood trauma, and disordered eating; stress/anxiety; life transitions; parental concerns; work-related stress; and stress that life throws at us. I believe any type of change is a journey and my role as a therapist is to help guide you through your journey for what makes sense to you!

Joanna is the best therapist I’ve ever had. She’s incredibly kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. She’s very relatable and easy to talk to. I’ve been able to discuss things with her I never thought I’d be able to tell anyone. She’s helped me so much in the short period of time I’ve been speaking with her and I look forward to our sessions.

Since I started talking to Joanna weekly, my overall happiness and appreciation of life has increased exponentially. I’ve started to really appreciate how I feel about myself and values as a person. She makes it so easy to open up and provides great questions that I never would have asked myself. I am always looking forward to our next session.

Starting therapy can be daunting, but Joanna helped ease me into it. Our sessions are more like chatting with a knowledgeable friend than therapy, which makes it feel easy to share personal information about myself. She never makes me feel judged and I feel like she genuinely listens to what I'm saying and offers helpful insight.
