About me
I am a professionally trained integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist passionate about the individual needs of each client.
Do you ever feel that life has become too overwhelming or that everyday tasks are a struggle? Is something from your past unresolved and affecting your life today? I believe we are all experts in our own lives and my role is to facilitate the exploration of those feelings with you together. I will support you in working towards any realistic goals that you would like to achieve. I understand that you may not know what support you need, what changes you want to happen or why you are feeling the way you do, but I am experienced to help you answer some of these questions so your life can begin to feel the way you would like it to.
I am registered with both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC). My approach is grounded in person-centred values, with an emphasis on creating a safe, warm, and collaborative space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore their inner world at their own pace.
As a practising Christian, I am able to integrate a faith-based perspective into the therapeutic process when it is meaningful or relevant for my clients. I work sensitively with people of all beliefs and backgrounds, always honouring each individual’s unique values and worldview. Faith integration is never imposed and is guided solely by the client’s preference
I provide a non-judgmental and empathetic service. I am trained and experienced in working with both adults and young people. I have extensive experience working with carers and adults with autism, on a range of topics. My role is to listen to your story and empower you to make changes you would like. With empathy and understanding we can explore together the issues you are facing in a confidential environment.

Joanne is incredibly easy to talk to, responding in gentle and kind ways. She is able to find and recommend helpful resources and chat them through with you.
From a christian perspective also, she is incredible at pointing everything back to God and to Him as our support

Jo is my lighthouse in the storm. She never fails to provide me with the tools needed to get me through life's challenges. She exudes kindness and I always come away feeling better after talking with her.

Jo changed my life. I met her during one of my lowest points when I genuinely didn’t think I could go on. I found her after trying a few therapists, and she was the one I truly connected with, the one I felt safe with. I came to her feeling broken, not understanding myself or even who I was. Piece by piece, Jo helped me rebuild- guiding me to discover who I am and how to live in alignment with that truth.
She was there through my darkest times, holding space with patience, empathy, and unwavering support. Jo is deeply understanding and non-judgemental, yet she also holds you accountable in the most compassionate way, gently pushing you to face what needs healing. Her honesty, insight, and ability to help you reflect are rare gifts.
Jo is not only an incredible therapist- she is a bright light in this world. I genuinely don’t know how I would have survived the past few years without her. I can’t recommend her enough.
