About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan with over 5 years of experience working as clinical crisis counselor and family therapist. I received a Master of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University with specialties in both Marriage and Family Therapy and School Social Work, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Calvin University. I have helped many individuals, couples, and families address a wide variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, abuse and trauma, parenting and family difficulties, grief and loss, and work-life balance.

My counseling style is collaborative, warm, respectful, empathic, and engaging. I am a good listener and I believe in creating an open and safe environment where clients feel free to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I am an affirmative therapist and an LGBTQ+ ally. I love helping my clients make sense of their circumstances through life-giving conversations, life-altering revelations, and emotional connections. I am an artistic soul at heart, and I utilize a wide variety of approaches including Experiential Family Therapy, Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and more traditional modalities, such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Internal family systems (IFS) theory. I also have specialized training in Couple Communication™ and Prepare/Enrich. Whatever your situation, I believe in a client-centered approach and am happy to tailor our sessions to meet your unique and specific needs.

I realize that it takes courage to reach out for help and I understand that this step is usually the most difficult. I would be honored to partner with you on your journey, and when you are ready, I am here to support and empower you. Please let me know how I may assist. I look forward to working with you!
