Joel quickly got to the crux of issues regarding my familial anger and alienation and the differences and difficulties I have with expressing my thoughts and feelings to others whose personalities and preferences differ from mine. He asked me to think about and apply a technique to avoid some of the pitfalls with identifying situations where I can communicate more effectively with people in my life whose emotional sensitivities differ from mine.
