About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I have been working in the mental health field for over 30 years. I am also a person in long-term recovery from Substance Use Disorders and PTSD, bringing a personal insight into the counseling relationship. I began my career working primarily with Substance Use Disorders, but after the attack on 9/11, I began specialized training in the Critical Incident/Stress Management model for the treatment and prevention of Stress-Related Disorders, working primarily with First Responders who have been exposed to traumatic incidents.

While I am very familiar with the 12-Step philosophy of treatment for Substance Use Disorders, however, I recognize that this approach doesn't work for everyone and will I help you develop a course of action that works for you. I use a non-judgmental approach in providing services, including but not limited to non-discrimination regarding: race; religion (or lack thereof); and/or sexual orientation.

I can provide a safe space to examine what are truly realistic and achievable goals for yourself. Together, we can develop and refine your goals, identify your strengths and weaknesses, and develop a plan towards shaping your goals and expectations into a walk that works for you, moving you closer to the fulfillment of the wants and desires you have for yourself.

I look forward to working with you.
