Dr. Jonathan Blassingame, Psychologist
About me
Dr. Jonathan C. Blassingame III, is a licensed clinical psychologist and an assistant professor at Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also the Director of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Ben Taub Hospital/Harris Health System and is the Associate Training Director of the Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Training program. Dr. Blassingame has completed his clinical training at Emory School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, Louis A. Faillace, MD Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and at Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. As an assistant professor, he teaches medical students, residents, and psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows how racism and health/mental health inequities manifest in healthcare settings and teaches psychotherapy related lectures. He specializes in the treatment of suicidality, personality disorders, trauma and trauma-related disorders, lgbtq+ related issues, and coping with stress.
