I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and have working with individuals, couples, and families for about 9 years. As an LMFT, I utilize a systemic cognitive behavioral style approach to actively work together with clients to achieve the clients’ goals for change. I emphasize the strengths of my clients and relationships to achieve positive, desirable change in a brief time period. Furthermore, my doctoral training as a Medical Family Therapist (MedFT) has uniquely prepared me to provide services to patients and their family members struggling with medical health issues. I believe that your health is about much more than your blood pressure or your diet. While your physiological wellness is important, health and wellness also include your mental health, relationship strength, and spiritual well-being. MedFT extends the relational approach of Marriage & Family Therapy to include attention to your physical health. As MedFTs, we have an extra appreciation for illness and the impact that it can have on your mental health and relationships. I have worked with a wide variety of chronic and acute illnesses, including cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and many others.
Overall, I would describe myself as an encouraging, empathic person who truly cares about my clients. My hope is that my clients and their families can achieve the very best outcomes possible in a reasonable amount of time. I recognize that every individual, couple, and family function differently, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge of understanding the unique needs of each client with whom I work.

Dr. Wilson always listens to me and takes me and my concerns seriously.
Dr. Wilson has been great. He gives me tools to help between sessions. I always leave the session feeling better than I started. He’s kind and encouraging. I’m very thankful for him and BetterHelp which allows these sessions on a busy schedule.
As a person with some pretty severe anxiety, Dr. Wilson was able to relate with his own experience and thus was able to effectively offer methods and advice that could help with controlling my anxiety. We've only had a few sessions so far, but his wisdom has definitely impacted me already and I'm grateful for his help.
I sought counseling with Dr. Wilson after having some trouble with a previous therapist. We were able to work around my changing schedule and I was able to make great progress toward my goals.
I have had Dr. Wilson for a while now and do have breakthrough moments every now and then which make it totally worth all of the work I put in and that he puts in with me. Very accommodating to my scheduling needs and respects my time
Dr. Wilson always answered promptly and in detail. He helped me with my confidence and getting over a tough situation in my life and I think his advice was valuable.
I'm fairly new to BetterHelp and about two weeks in with my counseling with Jonathan Wilson. I do have a lot of ground to cover but I already feel a greater sense of calm and control over my emotions. Jonathan provides both empathy and practical solutions to obstacles and is very encouraging along the way.
Dr. Wilson is very down-to-earth and has a great attitude. He is a great professional!
Dr. Wilson is very engaging and empathetic to my situation. He has offered insightful and knowledgeable techniques that help motivate introspect for emotional well-being. I highly recommend his skills as a therapist.
