About me

Hello, I am Jose L. Diaz, Licensed Counselor in the states of Florida, Virginia, Utah, New Jersey, District of Columbia and Vermont. I obtained a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and have been practicing for 16 years.

Through my years of experience, I have been privileged to work with a wide variety of individuals and their needs through depression, bipolar, anxiety, OCD, addiction, schizophrenia, relationship, and adjustment challenges.

In addition to my focus in various areas of mental health, I have offered valuable support to individuals who have experienced trauma and those within the LGBTQ+ community.

Although not a member myself., I have had the privilege of supporting members work through gender identification, orientation, the coming out process and familial/social themes.

My counseling style allows you to delve into the depths of their experiences, we can effectively address and work through the issues you are facing, leading to transformative growth, and healing. Through understanding your emotional and mental experience, you can more directly identify the core focus of change, independent yet in collaboration with coping skills.

Therefore, it is with acceptance as you are and a non-judgmental interaction that we collective work through the delicacy of your needs. It’s an interest of mine to help you acknowledge the very present ability to create change to your benefit.

Also, you are never alone in any emotional experience. I personally am familiar how mental health can affect a person life experience.

Being fluent in Spanish also enables me to connect with Spanish -speaking individuals and help foster healthy outcomes.

“We have more possibilities available in each moment than we realize” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

I look forward to working with you today. In having taken a moment to read this, you have already taken another step towards self-care.

Jose is a great therapist. I feel like he always listens and dives into what I'm saying or how I'm feeling and how that affects my life. He offers lots of insights and strategy to help with whatever I'm going through at the moment. Easy to talk to. Very friendly and professional.
