About me

My name is Jo.I am the founder of Orchid Counselling and Psychotherapy Ltd and a BACP-registered integrative counsellor. I have had over 4yrs experience working within the NHS in a non-clinical role before graduating from Newman University in Birmingham with a Introductory Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2018 and obtained FdA in integrative Counselling in 2021. I am trained in person-centred, CBT, Gestalt, and psychodynamic modalities, and have a passion for helping people. I can listen intently and respectfully, to understand and support clients from all walks of life in a multicultural setting. I provide a non - judgemental, friendly, and comfortable environment in which we may work through your challenges, to aid you in exploring your inner world and working toward your therapeutic objectives as someone whose job it is to listen, bring other perspectives to help you explore things.

If you're struggling with grief, relationship issues, poor self-esteem, depression, anxiety, or dread of the future, talking about it and figuring out why you live the way you do and how you're going to go on might help. I know how valuable it is to be able to talk to someone who is neutral and listens without passing judgement and I'd describe myself as congruent, honest, and helpful. Working with a trained professional in a confidential setting can help gain valuable insight into your situation and bring about much-needed change. You don’t have to suffer in silence

Joseph worked with me through 8 of the hardest months of my life.
It's no overexaggeration to say he save my life it in a way.
I am eternally grateful to Joseph. He's a fantastic listener, offers great advice and helps you find your way. He's a good friend and a beautiful soul.

Jo is a very down to earth and approachable person making it really easy to open up to him. His mix of empathy and uncomfortable truths is exactly what I needed to help me on my self improvement journey. He has truly helped me develop into a more well rounded individual.

We are working on my relational complications and I feel Joseph offers safe and empathetic space for me to explore and understand my internal resistance. I have noticed huge shift in the connection of 'self' (acceptance, permission, acknowledgement) as well as my boundaries.
