Hi there! I am a licensed professional counselor, currently residing in the state of Mississippi. I have approximately 10 years of involvement with the counseling profession. I acquired my Master's Degree from Mississippi State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016. I have experience working in various settings, including acute/inpatient, college-based, outpatient addiction, and for the past 4 years as a children/adolescent outpatient therapist. I also have extensive training/experience in trauma, mood disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, gender dysphoria, and emotion regulation, but have also covered a spectrum of other mental health issues.
I would describe my self as a very accepting and warm therapist, operating from a drive of empathy, multicultural competency, and compassion. I also view myself as alternative and non-traditional in most of my approaches. I tend to sway more towards a psychodynamic approach to therapy, but also incorporate cognitive-behavioral, reality, existential, feminist, relational, culture-centered, and narrative styles.
It is a primary goal of mine to be adaptable, accepting, and embracing. I love the experience of interpersonal connection that is provided by my career, and the ability to help empower others. I love the added bonus of meeting international clients!
I feel honored to have the opportunity to provide my services to whomever is in need, and am eager to explore the journey of life with you!

I like the practical approach Joshua uses, it gives me the sense of achieving something or actually doing something, rather than just talking for an hour. It also "holds me to account" as I feel I have to do the work as it's been given to me, which has the effect of giving me the benefits.
I also like Joshua's style of using phrases or "mantras" to repeat to yourself, like "control the controllable", "claim a good day". Having these little phrases as quick go tos when I'm having problems helps me practise the techniques, rather than have to think about a technique itself, the phrases are great memory joggers.
One final thing I like is Joshua's ability to put things into context, so I've felt quite isolated in my feelings, thinking "it's just me" but he's able to talk about other people's issues to put mine into context and discuss how other people's thinking is similar to mine, which is a great help as it makes me feel less isolated, less a failure and also gives me the hope that others have managed to relieve their issues, so hopefully I will too,
I HIGHLY recommend Joshua, he is a great listener and has some really good, real world advice. I feel he really understands where I am coming from and he is the best therapist I've ever had.
Joshua is a great counsellor! He really listens to my situation and is easy to talk to about my problems. He has a very progressive way of thinking and has helped me develop confidence and strategies to feel like my mental health issues aren’t taking over my life. Would definitely recommend Joshua’s services.
Joshua has helped me so much in such a short space of time. He is so respectful and positive, that even talking about the hardest things is okay and really helpful. He is extremely knowledgeable about all different techniques to help you and has a natural empathy and understanding of what is needed to help you move forward. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Super friendly and very easy to talk and open up too! You can tell he knows what he's talking about and even on days when im not very good at communicating hes able to keep the ball rolling
I’ve had 3 sessions with Joshua so far, and I’ve seen various counsellors, a psychologist, and psychiatrist in the past, but I’ve never been more open and honest about myself to anyone. Joshua is great at normalizing and validating my feelings and fears. I highly recommend him to anyone out there who is struggling.
Joshua is AWESOME!!! We have a lot in common. He is very respectful and supportive!
I can’t recommend Joshua enough.
I feel completely understood and at ease with Joshua. He actually listens and gives some of the best practice advice I’ve had.
He is always prepared for our sessions and goes out of his way to make sure he’s covering all of my concerns.
