About me

If the world is overwhelming for you right now, you are not alone. My name is Judith, "Dr. Jae". I am a Doctor of Counseling Psychology, Counselor-Educator, Clinical Supervisor, and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience.
During my time in the field, I've worked with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds with a wide range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief. I previously specialized in working with women, children, and families who were survivors of sexual abuse and, recognizing the challenging intersections of systems in the lives of marginalized groups, have dedicated myself to implementing counseling from a multicultural perspective.
My life’s philosophy is mirrored in the phrase “the first 60 years of life are the hardest”, my counseling philosophy is client-centered, and I believe that you know yourself better than anyone. My role as a clinician is to be a conduit for communicating your needs, confronting your fears, and develop the life you envision that is rewarding, enriching, and reframes problems as opportunities for growth.

Having never tried therapy before I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what I had with Dr. Nelson. She is an excellent person to have on your team and if you are willing to put in the work you will benefit greatly!
