About me
Hi! I received a Bachelor's Degree in Education/Biblical Studies from Southeastern Bible College (Birmingham, Alabama) and a Master's Degree in Agency & Community Counseling from the University of Montevallo (Montevallo, Alabama). I am also certified by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling as a Supervising Counselor to provide supervision for those seeking full licensure. I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Don. I have two children - a very loyal son and a daughter who now lives in Heaven - and three gorgeous granddaughters. I am a Christian and am active in my local church. I enjoy writing, cooking, reading, sewing, quilting, & playing with my grandchildren.
I have over 25 years experience in the Mental Health field, having worked in a variety of settings including private practice, intensive out-patient treatment for those with severe mental illness and chemical dependency, wilderness program for troubled teens, and outpatient services for children/adolescent/families issues. I have certification in Trauma Counseling. I work with all ages, regardless of sex, race, or economic status. I have provided in-home therapy for at-risk families, and have had extensive training in working with children/adolescents in multiple situations. Areas of specialty include: pre-marital/marital issues, chronic pain/illness, chemical dependency, family dysfunction, educational/ vocational attainment, dealing with trauma/abuse from the past, and grief & loss.
My goals in counseling are:
(1) to walk along the journey with someone to assist them in knowing who they are, and learning to like and accept who they are;
(2) to assist people in forming meaningful relationships, devoid of abuse or manipulation;
(3) to help people form short-term and long-term goals and to ascertain the steps needed to obtain those goals;
(4) to provide services in an atmosphere that fosters compassion and empathy in order to help the client feel safe and comfortable at all times.
I would count it a privilege to assist you in accomplishing your goals.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Judith Wilson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
She has helped me a lot in the past month or so with addressing my social interaction and boundary issues, particularly in regards to pursuing love interests. Her wisdom and compassion have saved me from continuing to go down a path where I wouldn't have been able to get out of trouble or set my own boundaries. I'm now in the position to find and stick to reasonable solutions and preventive measures, as well as use my voice more often to state how I truly feel within reason. I'm fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to be the most open and honest I've ever been about my issues. It has been a lifesaver.
Wow! Just wow! Judith is so easy to talk to! She is so compassionate and understanding. I can't wait until our next session!!
Judith is very understanding and easy to talk to. She is nonjudgmental and calm.
I have been talking with Judith for almost a year now, and I have made so much progress over this time. I have used therapy for many years, but this is the first time I have made lasting changes in my life! We are working towards the goals we have set from the beginning, and she always has possible solutions to issues I come across. I cannot thank Judith enough for how much she has helped me!
Judith has already been so helpful managing my OCD and anxiety!! She gives me really helpful advice that I can apply to my daily life!
Judith is a compassionate listener and is able to give wise. Biblical guidance.
Judith is excellent because she has a treasure chest of life experiences to draw from. A great person to go to for problem solving. She has been there and done that giving her a strong foundation for problem solving. She has a gentle but strong manner that draws me to her. She has been great for me. Love you Judith!!
Judith is a really good therapist. She listens, she offers good resources, and she is easy to talk to with. She checks in sometimes just to see how things are going and makes me feel as if I and my issues matter. I'm super thankful to have found her!
I am feeling like seeing Judith has given me the confidence to enjoy being myself, to let go of fears and worries which held me back, to truly embrace the life I want to live.
Judith is fantastic! Always positive and and helpful!
Just had my first session with Judith, I didn't know what to expect but she was very refreshing. She gave me things to work on before our next session. It was a really good experience for it to be my first time in counseling.
She's a good listener, wise lady, and very helpful in our sessions.
Judith has been so sweet and professional. I appreciate how well she listens, and her advice and suggestions are always well thought out and helpful. She is extremely encouraging and positive and focused.
Judith has been a great help and support to me as I seek help and advise to navigate through some stressful issues in my life right now. I appreciate her readiness to respond in a timely manner and her patience in really listening to me and her experience and knowledge to offer proper advice to help me and my situation.
A heartfelt thanks to Judith! So amazing!
Judith is caring, insightful, and encouraging! I'm thankful to have had her as a counselor and my life is better because of her insights!
Judith had some good tips for helping me. I can't wait for our next session
Judith is very kind and understanding. She makes you feel comfortable and listens. She offers practical resources to aide with sessions. I look forward to continuing to use she serves.
Judith has always responded in a manner I appreciate. More a folksy relatable style that suits me well. I tend to be analytical and do all the work sheets and read the theory, journal and try hard to articulate myself. But I don't have access to all the experience of other people and their journies to put my thoughts in perspective. Judith here's me out and gives me good guidance toward healthier beliefs and has helped me correct some thinking and chalwnge some beliefs that have lowered my anxiety and improved my life.
Judith has helped me tremendously. She has counseled me through a difficult time in my life. Listening to me and giving me the best guidance that I need. She also has suggested things to do to help me through it.
Excellent counselor who always takes time to make sure I am doing well even when I have to reschedule appointments or forget to schedule an appointment! Highly reccomend!
She is a great counselor
Just getting started but so far ... no complaints! Judith has been very good to work with!

Judith is fantastic and very attentive!
She is great so far!
Judith is EXACTLY what I was searching for in a therapist!! Judith has been so wonderful and supportive! I have had counseling before, but I never felt I had the “right fit” with previous therapists. Judith is a Christian. Which is very important to me in that my Faith is a huge part of my life! I highly recommend Judith and I’m so grateful I found her through Better Help!
Judith is a wonderful therapist. She is very patient and understanding of my issues and I always feel a little better after speaking with her.
Great listener and seems to really care!
