Julia Hunter, LCSW
About me
Greetings! I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado for the past 20+ years. I earned a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver in 1996 and have over 27 years of counseling experience. I worked in a variety of clinical settings with a diverse population dealing with many different conditions and difficulties before establishing my private practice in in 2008. My experience includes working with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, stress management and relationship issues.
My belief is that all humans have the innate potential to heal, change and grow. But sometimes knowing where and how to begin can be a challenge. There is an intricate mind/body connection and often people experience physical manifestations from mental/emotional stress and dis-ease. My objective is to help bring back balance and harmony to the whole person mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
My approach is collaborative, integrative, and holistic. I want to partner with you to find the solutions to whatever issues bring you to therapy at this time. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, goals, and desired outcomes. I will work to help you recognize and enhance your strengths as well as help you develop skills to navigate life with more resilience and flexibility to enhance the quality and experience of your life. My approach is informed by Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Energy Psychology including Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
