I am a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor for the past 20 years and have over 30 years working in the mental health field. My experience ranges from working on inpatient psychiatric units and in crisis counseling programs, to providing individual and family therapy. My therapeutic approach is always person centered, strengths based and goal oriented. Whether you are having a crisis in your life, have suffered a loss, are adjusting to changing situations in your life, or are just wanting to be happier and feel better about yourself, I can help you.
I have a passion for helping the LBGTQ community, be that helping someone through the coming out process, improve family relationships and develop healthy confidence and self-esteem in a culture that is still sometimes condemning and unsupportive. I like to help family members of LGBTQ folks better understand and improve ways of showing loving support and overcoming any obstacles to being supportive.
Another population that I have a passion for helping is Highly Sensitive People. Many people get diagnosed with major mental illnesses due to their symptoms of having difficulty coping with a stressful and chaotic world. Highly Sensitive people, and introverts, are often misunderstood and criticized for being themselves and end up feeling like something is wrong with them, when, in fact, they may just have traits that need to be understood, honored and respected. Our culture tends to value extroversion and toughness, and yet sensitives and introverts are some of the most creative, artistic, kind and empathetic people on the planet. Sensitivity and introversion are not problems or things to change, explain or defend. They are wonderful traits that you can understand better and therefore develop greater confidence and ways of communicating your needs and feelings. If you wonder if you are a Highly Hi Sensitive person, Google search Highly Sensitive Person self test and check out Elaine Aron’s work online. Related to Highly Sensitive People, is High Functioning Autism Spectrum folks, which is also a population I have much compassion for and find great joy in helping.
I often like to help people develop deeper insights and understanding of their unique personality, and using such insight to improve communication, relationships and life choices. I frequently work with people on knowing and understanding their personality typology (based on Carl Jung’s work and Myers Briggs test) and will link you to free and reliable online tests to get the information you need to better understand yourself and how you fit with other personality types. This kind of insight therapy will help you throughout your life rather than just focusing on addressing the issues of today.
If you can relate to any of this information, I may be the perfect therapist for you and would love to work with you!

Julie has always been wonderfully supportive and has provided wonderful perspective. She’s very focused on her work and it shows. I don’t believe I’ve ever spoken to somebody with such diligence while maintaining such a calm energy. She is absolutely remarkable.
She’s awesome and love her vibe.
Julie is amazing!
I really enjoy having my sessions with Julie. She is very understanding and listens well to my issues. She has great thoughts on what would be helpful to me. I look forward to our weekly sessions.
So far, Julie and I have had four video therapy sessions together. I am so grateful to have her as my therapist. Julie is a wonderful listener and is helping me immensely in my search to find greater compassion/love/forgiveness for myself. I find Julie to be very easy to relate to, and as a result, I find myself smiling and laughing during our sessions, which is very refreshing: therapy is necessary for me, but it doesn't have to be completely serious, it should be fun and enjoyable as well.
Julie is amazing! I wish she was my mom or friend in real life. Such a great person with an amazing mind that helps me through my journeys.
Julie was a wonderful therapist, validating and very insightful. I felt we had a great connection and only stopped our work together due to financial hardship that ended when I moved out of state. Loved working with Julie!!
Absolutely amazing. Listens to everything I have to say and doesn't judge me I would definitely recommend her
Julie is absolutely wonderful. Professionally speaking, she is always on time and starts the session focused and picks up where we left off the prior session. There is never an adjustment period needed. She creates a therapy plan that fits each individual client instead of basing every client on a single therapy method. Personally, she is so easy to talk to, truly pays attention, and pulls things out by asking questions in a very empathetic and curious way. She is an interactive therapist (which I LOVE) that doesn't just sit back and listen but engages in the journey with you. I can't say enough wonderful things about Julie, I recommend her to my own friends and family all the time!
I have been working with Julie for over a year now. She has helped and supported me through a rough time and I would recommend her to anyone needing help.
Julie is amazing. So kind and insightful. She’s helped me so much!
I’m so thankful I have had Julie as my therapist for almost two years now! I’ve learned so much about myself & how to apply what I’ve learned in my daily life!
Julie Knight is an incredible counselor. We vibe very well together and she has taught me so much about myself and unraveling my emotional past. She is so patient and kind. I really appreciate her respectful approach in counseling.
Julie is an incredible counselor. They're intelligent and empathetic. They've helped me to understand my own thought processes and trauma processing and given thoughtful and impactful feedback during our sessions.
I've tried counseling a few times in the past and it was never a good fit. Julie is the first counselor I've encountered that hasn't made me feel like my traumas and problems are all self-inflicted or that simply changing a single habit will make things all better.
I feel very lucky to have found them.
She’s absolutely the best therapist/ counselor/ all of the above I’ve ever had.
Julie is an amazing therapist, and stands out from the crowd. She manages to make therapy not feel "like therapy", but like a really great conversation, while addressing my needs and goals without judgement. She truly has a passion for what she does.
She is an amazing listener and helps guide you through your problems while also processing your emotions with you. I would recommend her to everyone I know. She is personable and doesn’t feel like “just another therapist”.
Julie is one of the kindest most authentic people I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. They make me feel comfortable and respected in all of our sessions. I am really happy we met as they are truly one of a kind!
She is amazing and completely understanding of my situations. She is extremely supportive and I feel safe in letting my guard down.
Julie is WONDERFUL! She meets me right where I am at. She always gives great insight and has an amazing way of helping me navigate my thoughts. She really empowers me as both a client and a young woman trying to figure out the chaos of early 20s!
Julie has helped me get through some difficult life changes. She listens and gives support that lifts me up and strengthens my confidence in being able to handle whatever life brings me.
She’s completely open-minded and truly does everything in her power to understand the real “you” so you can get the best help you need!
Julie has been amazing! To have a counselor willing to take time to learn about my personality and self without judgement is life changing! They are thoughtful, accepting, and patience. I’ve done therapy before but Julie makes me feel heard and understood when I share life experiences and traumatic life events. They don’t shy away from the hard questions and make sure I am ok after a challenging session before ending it. 15/10 would recommend Julie!
Julie has helped support me in answering questions that I didn’t even realize I was asking with my thoughts and behaviors. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate her. Completely genuine and experienced, 15/10 would recommend every time.
Julie has created the space for me to share when I need it and has been very understanding when my schedule prevents any communication. She has been flexible and always responds even when I am just looking for someone to vent to.
I love working with Julie. She is a great listener, provides great advice and is very knowledgeable.
Julie is great; empathetic and kind. I highly recommend.
Julie is absolutely amazing! Almost every time we talk, I actually leave the conversation feeling positive, hopeful, and determined. Julie helped me find that by encouraging, supporting, and validating me, my parts, and my experiences. I still have a long way to go, and paying for therapy with no steady income is hard, but I am confident that she can help me learn to navigate and manage my C-PTSD/Complex trauma, and other comorbid disorder(s).
Julie takes the time to listen and provides helpful practical tips to help you feel better. She genuinely cares and I’m so thankful for her!
She is an amazing therapist who listens, validates, and addresses all of my issues.
Julie has been professional, kind, and really helped with my situation. It is very complicated, and she has helped me feel like I am not losing my mind. She is compassionate and quick to respond. I highly recommend her as a counselor.
