About Me

Hi! My name is Julie. I am I Licensed Professional Counselor, and I love what I do. I have been in the counseling field for approximately twenty-five years. I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with my Master's of Education in Community Counseling. I have worked in different settings ,including outpatient counseling, therapeutic foster care, school-based counseling, and adoptions. In these jobs, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of issues, and gain a broad base of knowledge. I currently am offering therapy for the following: depression/sadness anxiety self-esteem PTSD anger management adoption-related issues grief and loss
couples counseling Christian counseling adjustment/transition difficulties mindfulness training parenting skills

My approach in counseling is one that is strengths-based, and a team approach. YOU are the expert on you, and I respect that! I will help you build upon the strengths that you already have so that you can be the best version of yourself. I will be by your side along the way.

I started my counseling sessions with Julie Thomas a couple of weeks ago. She has been very helpful to me. She listens and has offered me good advice on how to overcome issues that I am dealing with in my life. She has even helped me recognize things that I didn't know was happening to myself. I would recommend her to anyone who needs counseling because she is amazing!

Julie Thomas is an excellent counselor. She is very attentive and asks questions that make me think. She sends me worksheets to view over the topics I need to work on the most, so I know that she is really listening. I always feel so much better after speaking to her. I look forward to continuing services with her.

Julie is amazing. She's fair. Some couselors don't listen, and others just tell you what you want to hear. Julie is not like that. True professional.
