About me
Hello! My name is Justin Hammons and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Oklahoma. I have three years of experience of working with various demographics of clients with a wide range of concerns consisting of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, marital/relationship issues, parenting issues, ADHD, ASD, and oppositional behaviors. I also was given the opportunity to helped individuals to process through traumatic issues plaguing their lives. I have over 10 years of experience working with families to overcome barriers to achieve a higher level of family functioning.
Based on my observations and experience, I believe that it is important to remain unbiased, open-minded and create a space that is inviting as well as relaxed for the client to become more open to self-expression. My therapeutic approach when working with clients can vary based on the needs of the client, but primarily consists of utilizing cognitive-behavioral, narrative, solution-focused as well as experiential. Each client interaction will remain client-centered and strengths-based while looking at the systemic perspective of the client’s world. It is my intentions to encourage and navigate client towards any goal that they wish to accomplish.
I believe that it takes true courage and strength to seek outside help to overcome barriers to reach your full potential. I commend you for taking the most important step in your journey to healing and excited to see the other changes made throughout your journey to better you. Justin has been great at giving me mechanisms and tools to evaluate some of the stressors that disrupt day to day life. It has been eye opening to put things into practice and I've noticed an improvement in decreased anxiety and overall well being.
