About me

Hi, thank you for taking the time to view my profile. Often times, it is helpful for clients to know a little bit about their counselor's background. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LPC) in North Carolina and have been helping people with their concerns and trouble areas for close to 20 years. I received my undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and my Master's degree from the University of Memphis. I enjoy working with a variety of clients and am able to help people who have suffered trauma, who struggle with anxiety and/or depression, who are having relationship problems or are suffering with low motivation or self-esteem. These are broad categories, and there are several other areas that fall within those big categories, so if you have a question about how I can help you, please feel free to ask.

In terms of my treatment approach, I believe that one of the most important things in therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. When there is a good therapeutic relationship built, mutual respect is built and trust is formed. Once there is trust and respect change begins. I always want my clients to feel comfortable talking to me and to know that they are safe. I use aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Rogerian Therapy and attachment based therapies. However, therapy is not one size fits all. As I get to know my clients and they get to know me, we work collaboratively to develop the most effective way to help them meet their goals.

I hope this was helpful and I look forward to hearing from you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kara Konrad. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Kara is an excellent counselor. She recommended great books for me to read to deal with my journey to mental healing. She answers any of my questions about the books and/or the issues surrounding my codependency. She has sent me encouraging quotes and worksheets. I also enjoy talking to her. I am so glad that she's my counselor :-)
