About me

Hi I’m Karen

I qualified as Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2010 and I am currently a registered member of the BACP.

My experience is varied and across many different settings. I have experience of working with clients presenting with different issues ranging from anxiety, loss and bereavement, addiction, depression, children and young people, neurodiversity, family and relationship issues, work related issues, trauma, PTSD, neglect, suicidal ideation, stress related issues and many more.

I work in an integrated way always client led, using various skills, techniques and modalities depending on the client need. I have worked with clients from ages 5 to adults with a multitude of presenting issues. I will bring my creativity into the sessions if I feel the client will work well and benefit from this.

I like to empower my clients to become self-aware and understand their thoughts and feeling and triggers in life. Setting goals to bring positive changes and aiming to become the best version of themselves.

Life can feel difficult and overwhelming at times, and I meet my clients in a non-judgmental, open-minded and accepting way and we work together finding an approach that will work best.

No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, face issues and obstacles in life with uncertainty. With my experience, I truly believe I can help people to accept and understand the struggles they face, enabling them to move forward in a positive way.

I look forward to working with you.

Karen is lovely, welcoming & warm. She is wonderful at talking things through & offering different points of view where needed. Karen understands what it is like to live with neurodiversity & is accommodating throughout sessions. I greatly appreciate the work I do with Karen & highly recommend her.
