About me

My name is Karen Crawford Simms, and I am a licensed mental health therapist. I welcome clients of all identities, especially those from communities that have faced exclusion or inequity. I specialize in working with adults in transition—particularly those in teaching, caregiving, helping, or service professions—who are navigating relationship issues, parenting challenges, and life or professional changes such as pregnancy, marriage, divorce, menopause, or illness.
My practice is grounded in trauma-informed principles, cultural competence, and over 30 years of experience, study, and commitment to authentic healing and wholeness. I attended seminary, and if invited, I will respectfully explore issues of faith as part of therapy.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Karen Simms. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Karen is very supportive and easy to talk to. Knowing that it is not easy for me to open up, she (and BetterHelp) offer a variety of different forms of communication. When I would disappear for weeks or even months, Karen would continue to reach out and send messages of support and encouragement to get back in touch and share my experiences.

Karen has really taken the time to make sure I'm alright. Even when I go inactive for a few days, she always checks up on me. She's given me very helpful ways to manage my anxiety and depression that have made immense changes for me! I would definitely recommend her & BetterHelp to those who need it.

Karen Simms is an extremely understanding helpful person. Since the first session I felt at ease with her. She creates a comfortable not judgmental atmosphere which is so important to be able to open up. She makes sure that I’m doing ok at other times out of sessions showing genuine interest. I will recommend her 100%.
