Karol Ebio, LMFT
About me
I am licensed in Washington with 20 years of professional work experience. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I obtained my Master's Degree in 2005 in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) and my Bachelor's Degree from St. Martin's University in 2001. I have spent over 10 years working in the community mental health system whereby I earned both my Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) and Mental Health Professional (MHP) designations.
I utilize a client-centered approach to therapy, emphasizing the individual strength and resources of each client, in addition to a systemic theoretical focus, which is a theoretical orientation that acknowledges the complex interaction between individuals and their World around them. I utilize a wide range of treatment approaches, choosing the most effective for the issue involved, which include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), insight-oriented therapy models, and narrative & experiential therapies. I primarily work from an experiential theoretical orientation, which emphasizes the importance of understanding, embracing, and coming to terms with one's feelings.
I work with individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families. I believe the therapeutic relationship is paramount to change. The primary areas of treatment that I focus on include depression, anxiety, stress, relationships/marriage issues, trauma, anger management, communication issues, and life transitions.
I enjoy helping others become motivated, increase positive self-esteem, and exude confidence. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Karol has changed my life and helped me take control of my life and find myself again. I never thought this was possible and I’m grateful for her help as is my family.

Karol is real with me. She listens to me and challenges me to see more in myself but also is direct. I’m lucky to have found my perfect therapist— I can’t handle things sugar coated. I need it to be real and direct but still be constructive.
She asks me the tough questions and I can’t hide from her. One of my first visits a few years ago, I told Karol that I will hold back parts from my therapist if I know they will not ask the tough questions— She never forgot and that is worth its weight in gold.

Easy to talk to, works with me to set up and help me reach my goals by identifying and processing what I've internalized.
