About me

Hello!
My name is Karyl, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. I recognize the courage it takes to reach out for help with personal matters. It would be my privilege to walk with you as you navigate through life's challenges.

I have experience working with adults struggling with various issues such as depression, anxiety, obsessions/compulsions, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, mania, hoarding, and dissociation related to traumatic events. I have worked with people of various backgrounds, sexual orientations, genders, religions, and cultures. I care about what is difficult in your life and want to help with finding relief.

My counseling style is warm, attentive and non-judgmental. I work from a psychodynamic perspective which means I understand how past trauma and current stressors can impact daily life and relationships. I also utilize cognitive therapy which is a way to discover how thoughts affect feelings and behaviors. I have experience working with those struggling with past trauma and abuse and am trauma informed in my counseling.

I would love working with you and look forward to meeting you.

Karyl's feedback and time has been invaluable. She professional, kind and generous with her advice. She doesn't force any way of action or thought onto me, but instead listens and offers feedback based on what she hears. I am very satisfied and thankful for my sessions with Karyl.
