About me

Parenting is hard. It is likely the hardest job you will ever have! Each stage of life poses a new challenge and new stressor. As parents, we all need a little help and advice once in a while. If you have found your way to BetterHelp, chances are you may be experiencing some of these stressors. Hopefully, I can help!

Hello, my name is Kate Anderson. I am a licensed therapist in Nebraska. I have had the privilege to work with children and families for over 15 years. Most of my experience has been to help families find peace, calm and happiness in a daily world that can sometimes feel chaotic. I specialize in working with families that may be experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, OCD, ODD, ADHD, eating issues, family/child relationships and family dynamics. I also have experience with children on the autism spectrum, special needs adults, and self-harm.

In my years of counseling, I have used a strength-based, client centered approach to help parents and families calm the chaos, work collaboratively to develop effective parenting strategies for you and your family, and strengthen the parent-child relationship. My therapy primarily utilizes evidence based cognitive behavioral therapy.

I truly believe that therapy is a collaboration between myself and the family. I would describe myself as warm, open, honest and interactive. During our time together, I want to learn about you and your family, your family dynamics, your parenting style, and what works for you. Based on our discussions, we will work together to determine what your goals are and how to best achieve those goals. As your therapist, I will be there to support you every step of the way.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I am excited for the opportunity to work with you!

The match up between Counselor and the person seeking help is key. Kate is a very good listener, asks good questions, challenges perspectives and is very succinct. She's made a huge difference for me in my work and at home. A difference maker to say the least.
