Katherine Figueira, LMHC
About me
As a licensed therapist in Massachusetts with over three decades of clinical experience, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes. My practice centers on helping clients address stress, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions with compassionate, personalized care.
I graduated from Fitchburg State University with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and earned a post-master’s certificate in Family Systems Therapy. I have over 30 years of experience working in the mental health field, with extensive experience supporting adolescents, teenagers, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I currently serve as a clinical coordinator at a special education therapeutic K–12 school.
I specialize in treating anxiety, substance use, non-suicidal self-injury, and anger-related challenges. I am a board-certified PTSD clinician, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), and a school adjustment counselor (all levels). I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC). My work is grounded in a strength-based approach, and I tailor treatment to each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all model.
I have deep expertise in supporting women’s mental health, young adults, and individuals struggling with social anxiety, mood disorders, and self-esteem challenges. My approach focuses on understanding each person’s unique journey while fostering self-compassion, improving communication skills, and building healthy coping strategies.
In my therapeutic work, I emphasize healing from past experiences, managing workplace challenges, and navigating significant life transitions. I strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe exploring their emotions, building resilience, and cultivating meaningful personal growth.
With a commitment to empathetic, evidence-based care, I aim to help clients transform difficult experiences into opportunities for self-discovery and emotional wellness.
