Hi and Welcome! If you are visiting this site it tells me you or someone close to you is probably struggling with something. I have great compassion and empathy for you and whatever it is causing you distress. I also know reaching out can be difficult, so for that I commend you! I hope this journey will reward you for the rest of your life. And if you utilize therapy services and apply the discoveries and lessons you learn it can be a wonderful, positive, life changing experience! This is my hope for YOU!
My name is Katherine Holland. I have worked as a mental health therapist for over 30 years in North Carolina (NC LCSW #C001862) in a variety of roles and capacities. I have counseled people of all ages with many different struggles. My specialty areas include Depression, Anxiety/Stress, Trauma, Self Esteem issues, Relationship issues, Parenting issues and many others. I have worked with people experiencing career issues, grief and loss and anger issues. I have worked with people struggling with Bipolar disorder and Personality disorders of all kinds.
I love being witness to an individuals growth, seeing them overcome life's dilemmas and obstacles and watching them launch into a better place in life!
I believe in treating all people with the same respect and dignity that I like to receive. I believe that every individual is the authority of their life and experiences. I have enjoyed working with many, many people over the course of my career, assisting them through difficult times and helping them find their best version of themselves.
I have an eclectic style, using a variety of different theories, techniques and interventions, because I believe each person is a unique combination of their beliefs, interests and experiences. Therefore, one size cannot fit all. We will work together to determine what kinds of therapeutic interventions will resonate with you to offer the most help. While I am often direct in my communication, I will always show you compassion and kindness. I will treat you with unconditional regard and value you as an individual. I will respect your time and offer you value for the time you dedicate to therapy. I will work to help you gain insight into how you got to your current life situation, help you find resolution to it, and develop skills to avoid getting back into that place. I will also help you enhance your skill set for everyday problem solving.
Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. I look forward to meeting you if I sound like the right counselor for you. And if I don't sound like the right fit, please review other profiles and continue your pursuit of the right counselor. Best wishes to you!

Katherine offers the needed compassion in a very non-judgmental way. She does hold you accountable for your actions and will be honest in her words, which is very much needed in my situation. I’ve grown a lot through our insightful conversations. She responds in kind to my journal entries.
