About me

You want intelligence, compassion, and someone to validate or challenge your thoughts and feelings? Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Treatment interventions, I can help you create a different narrative and see life though a different lens. I am a graduate of Columbia University with a degree of Master of Public Health in healthcare management. I have been a director of various psychiatric clinics prior to starting a private practice in 2015. I was clinically trained ( MSW) at Florida State University, class of 1993. I am also a graduate of The University of Miami with a clinical psychology degree in 1990.
I am trained to provide therapy for adults who experience depression, general anxiety, social and performance anxiety, marital/couple difficulties, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, addiction (including opiates), binge-eating behaviors, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I also have a particular expertise in life coaching ( how to get unstuck). I am not opposed to psychiatric medications however I believe all medical possibilities must be explored prior to or in addition to medication evaluation. Psychiatric genetics, sleep study, nutrition, and medical issues ( hormonal or vitamin/mineral deficiencies) are part of the psycho education I provide.
I am a breast cancer survivor and a parent of children with attention deficit disorder. I am keenly aware of how physical illness can profoundly affect mental well-being and can provide positive and knowledgeable support for adults navigating these issues. Please feel free to contact me for additional information and to see if we are a good fit!

Absolutely love working with Kate. I was hesitant before starting therapy but now am an absolute supporter. Kate has worked hard to try to find options that work for my condition both with her and in the outside world. I am so grateful.

Kate is an amazing therapist. She listens to me and validates my feelings so well. She gives me options on treatment and works with me according to how I feel that day or what I’m currently going through. She takes into account my mind and body and not just tries to categorize me into a generic group. I am so grateful for her expertise and patience and skill.

Kate has been very helpful to me and has given me good tools to deal with the issues I've been having. I plan to continue talking with her and taking her advice and would advise others to as well if they are in need of it. Very nice, professional, and understanding person.
