About me

I have an undergraduate degree in political science with a focus on human rights from Simon's Rock College of Bard. I earned a masters in counseling with a focus on trauma studies and marginalized communities from Lesley University. I am currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a LMHC. I began my career in human services as a teenager and have worked as a tutor, coach, big sister, caseworker, clinician and program coordinator in various agencies. I have experience in both urban and rural communities. In the past decade, I have worked in schools, residential programs, detention facilities, outpatient clinics, urgent care/crisis centers, emergency rooms and veterans programs. I approach my work with the belief that life is often difficult and overwhelming, but we all have the ability to heal and recover with the right support, guidance and resources. I use a range of therapies including DBT, CBT, trauma counseling, grief counseling, mindfulness and client centered therapy, as well as connecting clients to appropriate resources in their community.

I have been in therapy with Kate since January so for 10 months and it's the first time I have gone into therapy for myself for an extended period of time and taken control of my mental health. I really like Kate, she has a similar style to myself and is funny but takes my issues seriously and we problem solve how I can deal with serious situations. I have never felt talked over or belittled for my problems and its a good step for me as I navigate my early 20s

Katherine is amazing. She is so easy to talk to and very relatable. She makes my session go by so fast as I find it incredibly easy to talk to her. I am always writing to her and she gets back to me and offers feedback on what I have to say and I know that I can depend on her and her feedback.

Katherine always listens to me and talks me through situations that usually make me anxious so calmly. When I talk to her I don’t feel like I’m talking to a therapist. It’s more like a conversation with someone in your life you’ve known for a while and can trust.
