Greetings! I am Kathleen (Kathi) Sutton, a Transpersonal Psychotherapist and Registered Art Therapist licensed in Colorado with 9 years of experience. Before that, I was a parenting coach and educator for many years. I have worked with clients from ages three to ninety three: individuals, families and groups, in residential treatment centers, outpatient group practice, correctional facilities, assisted living and a community-based art therapy collective.
I am especially passionate about working with women seeking empowerment, wanting to build self esteem, recovering from abusive relationships and those seeking direction, encouragement and guidance in navigating big life changes. Navigating the process of aging is also of special interest to me.
I have a strengths-based approach within the context of an authentic relationship, that being the essential foundation for success with any healing modality. I want to get to know you and I want you to feel heard and respected! I strive to help you uncover and validate your inherent health and goodness, with sensitivity to individual needs and interests. I offer a mindfulness approach as I we employ trauma-informed talk therapy, somatosensory therapy, and expressive arts therapies, facilitating insight, expression of feelings, and release of trauma stored in the body and nervous system, thereby building emotional resilience. I can provide psychoeducation, when appropriate, to help you develop practices that can invite self-acceptance as well as support improved self-regulation and self care.
Sometimes even the act of reaching out for help can take you far along a healing path. I would be honored to walk that path with you, and as I relate to the very best in you, I hope to help you to know that best self as well.

Kathi has been a huge help to me and I have only been working with her a few weeks. I am excited to meet with her and she always listens and values what I have to say. Thank you Kathi!

The support is ongoing with Kathi even though I have made much improvement. I feel heard, understood, and comfortable that I can reach out anytime if I need help. I am so grateful for this service and to have found Kathi!

I was skeptical about online therapy in general before I tried BETTERHELP, but I’m a believer now. Kathi was the perfect match for me. I was lucky enough to have someone available who fit all my needs, and the matching process did a wonderful job. Kathi is kind, sensitive, supportive and very intuitive. She seems to hone in on what I’m really saying and is tremendously helpful in helping me figure out what’s important, what I want, and what I need in order to get there. If you’re looking for someone to tell you what to do or to be hard on you in some way, this is not the right therapist for you. Kathi is also an art therapist, something I really love and appreciate about her. She sees things in a creative way, and helps me to as well. I leave every session feeling better about myself, not because she tells me I am better, but because with her help I’ve realised it myself. I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with her, and to the work we will do together.
