I am currently licensed in Colorado with more than 40 years of professional work experience counseling youth, adults and families. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, & parenting issues.
My profession as a Social Worker has provided me with a broad range of experience with other agencies in the communities where I have lived and resource help for families has been an ongoing support for all of the people I have worked with. I have been most recently in the School System and worked with issues that affect families such as children with behavioral issues, family communication struggles, teenage challenges, developmental disabilities, emerging mental health issues and the ongoing stresses that life in general can place on an individual or family.
I believe in individual strengths and the ability of all people to learn new ways of problem solving so I have a non-judgmental and active listening style. I have an understanding of the connections between the physical, spiritual and emotional interactions and do not shy away from listening to and talking about any range of issues.
I have a desire to help people see and feel that they have someone they can trust and talk to about very difficult topics. I have maintained a belief that people are able to discover their strengths by laying out the components and parts of their life complexities and employing their skills to solve issues and enhance their wellbeing.
Overall, I believe that a good therapy session involves being a mirror to reflect to the client what they are saying, feeling and then able to use gentle or direct guidance to approach the things they wish to improve.
